About Us

Ekaant Foundation is a mental health initiative,
with the vision of making psychosocial services accessible to the
people who cannot reach them.

Ekaant Foundation is a social enterprise, which means that we engage in issues that impact the society we live in and strive towards bringing about sustainable positive change. We are working on the issue of mental health, viewing it and addressing it from a comprehensive lens.

We believe in the vision of accessibility to mental health care services for all and skills for developing mechanisms for coping and resilience among people across age groups, abilities and gender identities. Our work is oriented towards the grassroots level issues around mental health and focuses upon prevention of mental illness and psychosocial distress through awareness, education, research, training and support.

Mental well being cuts across all domains of an individual’s life and has a direct bearing upon the quality of life they live, their relationships, educational and occupational accomplishments. The mental health of individuals also has a bearing upon the larger community of which they are a part, as more resilient and empathic people lead to formation of a society which is more just, humane, peaceful, inclusive and progressive.

Actively working towards a society where expression of emotions is normalized and issues of psychosocial distress are brought to the limelight and openly discussed, a society where people no longer have to silently suffer or battle with their mental illness or thoughts of suicide, is something that we owe to the generations that come after us and that is the motivating force for our organization.

Making Mental Health Care Accessible

We work with the understanding that persons with mental health conditions require not just bio- medical interventions, but also a range of psychosocial interventions, such as legal support, crisis intervention, vocational support, advocacy, rights - based work and access to safe, inclusive spaces for recovery and rebuilding of a meaningful life.

Huge gaps exist in the availability of such services and we plan to engage our multi-disciplinary
team on these crucial aspects of mental health services. We also offer mental wellbeing, stress reduction, lifestyle management and applied mindfulness workshops for corporates and NGOs, in addition to educational workshops on mental health, key clinical concepts etc. for school students, college students, teachers, parents or anyone else who might be interested.
